Ran across this baby in a slashdot thread. Never played it before. Didn't like any of the interfaces that I used when playing. So I wrote my own.

Geek IQ Test

  • Author: John Urbanek

  • File: GeekIQ ( PDF pdf ) ( PS ps )
  • File: GeekIQ Answers ( Available Upon Request ) or by guessing the filename

While not an IQ test in the strictest sense, this set of questions is designed to test your position in the geekdom. This test is never complete, questions are added as often as possible. Since this is categorized as a work in progress, please refrain from telling me how inadequate or awful it is. If you have anything constructive (be it - or + ) to say, don't hesitate. If you are serious about taking the test and flexing some geek muscles there are a few rules to obey.

  • Use of third party software or the Internet is considered cheating. Many of the questions could be answered with a FSGS (Five Second Google Search).
  • Use of a calculator is prohibited, paper and a writing utencil is allowed.
  • If you really want to be hardcore, a time limit is in effect. Questions are aimed to take an average of 30 seconds per question. Note an average, some will deviate from this average. Example: 25 question test should take between 12-13 minutes.
  • Remember, this is designed to be hard.

If you are going through the test and find that it is just too difficult to accomplish while keeping the rules in mind, then just screw the rules. Try to figure out the answers using any tools available to you. The "rules" are just there for those that want to something to prove.
